Class Rules

Mr. Patrick’s Class Rules

Ready
Respectful
Resilient

1-      If the classroom is occupied, line up for class by standing up and not sitting/lying on the floor.

2-      If the classroom is not occupied, go in, sit down, place your bag on the floor and your book on your desk.

3-      Class begins promptly at the scheduled time – if for any reason I am not there, review your previous work.

4-      Electronic devices are allowed in class for the purpose of supporting your learning.  Any device that is being used during class time for non-class work will be confiscated – you can take it from the teachers’ office at the end of the school day.

5-      No headphones or ear-buds allowed in the classroom – if seen these will also be confiscated.

6-      Strictly no food or drink allowed in the classroom (including break times) – water only.

7-      Come to class wearing the correct school uniform.  No hoodies, no jackets and no sports tops/sweatshirts.  You can purchase the school sweater or wear a plain black woolen sweater/cardigan.

Important note about homework: The purpose of homework is to support your learning and to prepare you for your summative assessment.  If you do not do your homework, you are missing out on your learning.  I will not always check your homework every lesson.  This does not mean you do not need to do it.  The homework will be checked when I take in your books for checking and any unfinished work will need to be completed at that time.  The consequences of not having completed and up dating your work will be a Needs Improvement in your book.  If you get three of these throughout the year, you will be taking a trip to the office.
The purpose of Promoting Positive Student Behaviour is to promote effective teaching and learning within positive learning environments to support the building of healthy relationships and appropriate behaviours.
